Training & Showing
Training
Riley grew up riding in the Indianapolis area and began under Stefanie Collier and later Richard & Catherine Rinehart as both a junior and amateur rider. Throughout her junior and amateur years, she was competitive in both the hunter and jumper rings. As a junior rider, she was fortunate to clinic under Jennifer Alfano, Mindy Bower, Melanie Smith Taylor, and Diane Carney. During her amateur career, Riley was lucky enough to spend time under Michael Burnett of Burnett Farms and other professionals who helped her develop her riding, education, and network. Upon finishing her bachelor degree from IUPUI, Riley spent a circuit in Wellington, FL. Working for Kevin and Jackie McQueen of Mill Stone Farm.
Riley’s program lends itself to a strong foundation for both horse and rider to find and achieve harmony. She places a strong emphasis on flat work and position to facilitate a solid foundation for both horse and rider to achieve their goals at home and shows. Her notoriously patient and positive demeanor foster an empathetic coaching style, making her a supportive trainer for all different types of learners.
Riley enjoys educating and sharing her love of the sport with riders but is also passionate about development and fundamentals in young or green sport horses. Over the last few years, Riley has helped multiple young horses step over their first jumps, attend their first shows, and win their first blue ribbons.
